What are DTF Transfers?

DTF Transfers, which stands for Direct to Film transfers, are an incredible new way of transfering any image onto any material or color without having to worry about technical printing specs as you might have had to worry about before. 

Every transfer is printed the same way with the same underbase and transfers as the same temperature on all materials.  There are exceptions to this rule, but generally speaking, everything is the same on every material you transfer onto, making it much easier to have confidence that all transfers will adhere and appear as you desire on every order.

There is no limit to the color range, number of colors, or quantity that you can order in DTF transfers.  

This was never possible with screen printing transfers because you needed to make sure that you were ordering the correct ink type for the garments you would be printing.  It would also be quite cost prohibitive to order a small quantity of screen print transfers, especially when ordering a high color count.

What size transfers should I order for Womens Sizes?

Typically for womens shirts, the typical customer who might be ordering custom shirts from you does not expect the design size to change, so 9"x9" is suitable for the entire run.

Although there can be a large variance in sizing between a Womens XS and a Womens 2XL, we still find that the 9"x9" inch sizing works well.

If you decide to modify the design size based on shirt size, our recommendation would be to print your Womens XS through Womens M at 9"x9" inches.  And to print your Womens L and larger at 10"x10" inches.  So you can see that given the minimal size change, it is not worth the hassle of changing your print size based on the shirt size for Women's garments.

What size transfers should I order for Youth Sizes?

Typically for youth shirts, the typical customer who might be ordering custom shirts from you does not expect the design size to change, so 8"x8" is suitable for the entire run.

However, we are very familiar with the fairly large variance in sizing between a Youth XS... and a Youth L & Youth XL.

If you decide to modify the design size based on shirt size, our recommendation would be to actually group your Youth L and Youth XL shirts with your Adult size prints if they are mixed into the order at 11"x11" or larger.

And to print your Youth XS through Youth M at 8"x8" inches or possibly 9"x9" inches.

What size transfers should I order for Adult Shirts? 2XL? 3XL? 4XL? 5XL?

Typically for adult shirts, even with a size scale of Adult S through Adult 5XL, the typical customer who might be ordering custom shirts from you does not expect the design size to change, so 11"x11" or larger is recommended. 

If you really prefer to modify the design size based on shirt size, our recommendations are below:

Adult Small through XX Large: 11"x11" or larger

Adult 3X Large through 5X Large: 12"x14" or larger
